| Bio: | Believe it or not, despite my username this is not a blog about being a mommy, although that does come up occasionally. I started this journal in 2003 when I was a young, childless graduate student who'd just gotten married (and was freaked over having made such a heteronormal lifestyle choice). "Terrible mother" was the name I chose because at the time I was utterly overwhelmed with various projects, people, and animals, and felt that I just could not keep up with all of it while maintaining my own sanity. Little did I know. This journal has been very helpful for maintaining sanity, and now I really AM a working mom (of a human), and yes, I'm terrible at all of it. Just kidding. Sort of. I'm rather paranoid about fucking up and being unprofessional, so this journal is 99% friends-only, primarily a tool for keeping in touch with loved ones. However, if you know me please identify yourself so I can add you. If you don't know me or any of the people I work with but nevertheless want to read, feel free to declare yourself and I'll gradually (at incremental "security levels") add you back. Please excuse the paranoia but you know how it is with the internet these days. |
